Undershooting costs more. A minimum contract charges the full flat fee whether or not the classes get used; a pack or a drop-in never does. Here that makes one class under 12.0x as expensive as one class over.
Your pack, honestly pricedAt your pace, 10 of 10 classes get used before the pack expires, for an effective $20.00 a class. The cheaper of a drop-in and this pack, $20.00, is the rate breakeven is measured against.3 weeks away a year brings real attendance to about 7.54 classes a month; unlimited still bills every one of those weeks in full.An estimate from the figures entered, not a quotation.

Why this page exists

Most people come less often than they planned to.

That is not a character flaw, it is a diary. Work moves, a child gets ill, a hamstring complains. Every studio knows this and most of us price as though it never happens. The number above is the one that survives it: what a class costs you at the attendance you actually manage, rather than the attendance you meant to.

Three ways to pay, and what each one really does

Every studio publishes the first two lines. The third one is the one you find out later, so it is on the card.

Drop in

$25

One class, booked when you know you can come.

What it costs you

Nothing is wasted and nothing is cheap. At more than seven classes a month this is the most expensive way to practise here.

Ten class pack

$200

Ten classes for the price of eight, used within twelve weeks.

What it costs you

The twelve weeks are the catch. Miss three of them and the pack quietly becomes a seven class pack at pack prices.

Unlimited

$149 a month

Every class on the timetable, twelve month minimum.

What it costs you

The minimum term is the catch. It bills in the months you are away, injured or busy, and those are exactly the months you would have skipped.
